The design of the hotel takes inspiration from the city’s industrial heritage and brutalist architecture, mixing concrete and moody elements with softer textures and confectionery touch points, drawing on York’s famous alumni including the Rowntree and the Terry families. As a city, York has always had so much to offer; from it’s Roman and Viking roots to the cosmopolitan city it is today. Situated on the corner of Rougier Street, the hotel is a stone’s throw away from some of the city’s most famous attractions, including York Minster, York Castle and the historic city walls. The River Ouse are both a few minute walks away, with the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York Art Gallery and the world-famous university a short walk over the bridge.

Location - SORA Sky Bar, Malmaison York

Think luxurious and comfortable loungers, lanterns, beautiful trees, Champagne, cocktails and food platters. Then add the stunning views of York Minster, while watching the sunset and you’ll have the perfect working environment.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, bubbly, organised and meticulous individuals, with excellent customer service skills. 
 
As Head Host you will be managing the flow of guests into SORA in order to optimise their experience whilst making effective use of the space. You will need to be an excellent communicator and comfortable dealing with guest enquiries via telephone, email and face to face. Liaising with the Front Office team and SORA management you will be an integral part of making each shift a success. 
Do you have experience leading a team of hosts? Do you have experience delivering excellent customer service?
 
 We are very busy throughout the Summer months, serving 800+ guests a day! So experience in high volume bars and restaurants is required.
